CHRONIC GASTRITIS – an inflammation of the mucous membrane of the stomach accompanied by a disruption of the secretory and the motion function of the stomach.


In the treatment of this disease is recommended an oral intake of honey, one to two grams per kilogram of body weight three times a day.

In hyperacid gastritis the honey should be taken two hours before a meal, and in hipoacid it is recommended to take honey dissolved in warm water 10 minutes before the meal. The treatment lasts 20 -30 days. The treatment can also be done by taking drops of propolis, that is 20 drops dissolved in a glass of warm water three times a day before meals. This form of treatment lasts 3 – 4 weeks and the pains disappear after only 6 -7 days.

GASTROENTEROCOLITIS – an inflammation of the mucous membrane in the region of the stomach to the colon. The most common symptoms of colic, constipation, diarrhea, swollen abdomen, etc. In the treatment can be used honey, pollen and propolis, and it is best to combine all three products. The best types of honey for this kind of disease are: meadow, mountain and chestnut honey. Take three tablespoons daily before meals, dissolved in warm water. The treatment lasts 4-5 weeks.


If for the treatment is consumed propolis, it is best to take it three times a day before meals 1-2 tablespoons of 10% water extract of propolis or 30-40 drops of 30% alcohol extract of propolis in a glass of water or milk. If for the treatment only propolis is used, it is best to use one tablespoon before meals three times a day.

For medicinal purposes it is recommended to use honey obtained by cold processing, and honeycomb, which gives a specific flavor. The cold processed honey destroys a number of bacteria in the stomach and intestines, which makes it an effective remedy against the gastroenterocolitis.
